Please help to check and give me advice for my essay

Task 1

The graph indicates the quantity of investigating by the Tourist Information Office from January to June in 2011 in a city. Overall, the number of enquiries in person and by telephone increased significantly while the enquiries by letter/mail decreased.

As the graph is illustrated, there were a significant rise in the number of investigating by person and by telephone. Especially, the quantity of enquiries in person witnessed a dramatical increase from January to June, made up over 400 in January and then continuing to rise and reach the high at June with around 1900. Similarly, the enquiries by telephone were around 900 in January and decreased slightly to 800 in February. In March, it went up to 1000 and remained unchanged until April and started to rise significantly and accounted for 1600 in June.

By contrast, the number of enquiries by letter/mail experienced a fall in over the period. There was almost 800 for the quantity of investigating by letter/email in January. This number was falling gradually and reached the lowest number in May with nearly 400 and stable it to the end of the period.

Task 2

Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In this day and age, everybody aware of the importance of environment and it needs to improve because of hazardous pollution. Some people say that individuals cannot help to make a difference but only governments and large firms. I totally disagree with this point because each individual contributes their efforts to improve the environment as much as governments and large companies do.

As the matter of fact, people realize that the environment is in danger and need to be protected and improved by their daily behavior. First, they try to use less plastic products. For example, they bring their food containers to buy meals. When they go to supermarket, they use their fabric bags to hold items. As a result, the number of plastic use will be reduced. Second, the clarify of garbage is one of the key point to improve the environment and this only can do by individuals. Each people aware of the necessary of disguising trash and the number of garbage into the environment. If they can clarify and recycle trash, it will help a lots in the process of environmental improvement.

There is no doubt that without cooperation of individuals, governments and large companies cannot success to improve the environment. Governments run many campaigns to raise awareness of people about the environment and encourage people to take action to protect the atmosphere. For this reason, these campaigns cannot be successful if each individual is not work together. Therefore, individuals are the key point to improve the environment. In case of large companies, they will contribute an important role to produce friendly environment products. However, they cannot be achieved if their customers do not buy these products. Once again, even large companies need the cooperate of individuals to improve the environment.

To sum up, people cannot survive with polluted environment. We need the cooperation of all individuals, governments and companies to improve the environment. There is no need to consider who is the most importance in this process. People should take an action to improve and protect their own atmosphere before it is too late.
