Opinions are divided as to whether artificial intelligence surpassing humans is an advantageous revolution. Although many people believe that the advancement in robots in terms of intelligence is somehow inimical to humankind, I would strongly contend that the upsides of this phenomenon are greater.

Opponents of superior artificial intelligence may claim that this development will potentially exacerbate global unemployment and other social issues. This is because the adoption of technology may facilitate the manufacturing process and in turn increase productivity and efficacy. Indeed, should computers’ intelligence to excel that of humans, doctors and teachers will be dispensed with and their jobs will be fully computerized. As a result, many people will be rendered redundant in the distant future. Furthermore, this case may be even escalated as burgeoning levels of global unemployment will possibly lead to some social issues such as crimes and deteriorating welfare.

Nonetheless, global automation may equate with fast-paced development in other academic domains. Firstly, scientific tasks namely medical researching and scientific experimentation will be operated by robots on a larger scale with increased accuracy and speed. For example, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, it is reported that medicinal robots play an imperative role in the development of the vaccine against the disease, which means similar findings and breakthroughs are likely achieved in the future. Moreover, the superior intelligence of computers may arguably act as a stimulus for the improvement of individuals regarding cerebral abilities as people are supposed to work more smartly and industriously to contend for power and control over the world, otherwise, they would be replaced by technology.

In conclusion, though I admit that robots’ excellence in intelligence may possibly affect the community adversely by fomenting redundancy and threatening individual well-being, I would believe that these downsides will be outweighed by several positives in terms of efficiency in researching and future enhancement of people overall.
