I would like to express my interest in a position as a apprentice plumber for your construction company as advertised on craigslist on June 11
.As a graduate of the Piping trades program in BCIT, I am confident that I have the necessary requirements and skills for the apprentice plumber position outlined by your construction company.
The Piping foundation program at BCIT, includes hands on training and experience in all aspects of the piping trades: Plumbing, Steamfitting, Gasfitting, and Sprinklerfitting. All Projects in this program are assembled, tested and dissembled individually
Your job ad outlined key specific skills and experience:
Your Requirements:
Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures and systems, Cut holes to accommodate pipes and fittings, Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes in place, Join pipes with couplings, clamps, screws, bolts or cement, Inspect and test pipes for leaks, Select and install pumps, Maintain and operate hoisting and rigging equipment, Repair, service and maintain plumbing systems or fixtures.

My Qualifications:
- Multilingual (English, Cantonese and Mandarin)
- Experience installing, testing , repairing and maintain low temperature hot water systems, drainage, water lines, fixtures and sprinkler system (Series loop, Reverse return, Up and Over, Hot-Water tank),
- Extensive experience measuring and Cutting holes to occupy pipe and fittings
- Proficient with measuring, threading, cutting, installing and joining pipes with valves, fittings (unions, couplings, 90, 45, etc,) , hanger supports, , bolts, screw, clamps, pumps and applying sealant and gaskets.
- Assembling and operating scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent reading and finding information skills
- ability to reason and apply simple numerical concepts
