Please help: Preposition problems

Hi everyone,



I'm baffled with these situations. Please correct the following sentences and tell me which is the correct use of preposition by putting you answer next



1. Two girls are in a coffee shop. They are talking over a cup of coffee about what just happened at/in the office. One of them says: I think it's about time to set a more professional tone in / at the office. And I also think employees in/at the office should really comply with the employee(s) guidline. ...... The other girl says: I think there could be more gym equipment added to / in the office. The facility at / in office needs upgrading. Maybe we should take the office manager to upgrade (on??) the facility.



2. The English department at/in/of St. Mary University has recently invited a member of an alumni to preside over a workshop on /about works by May Fung, a rising Chinese artist (over/in) the past decade).



3. Tina works at Toys World as a customer service staff. If she's answering the incoming phone call

She says: Good morning! Toys World. This is Tina at/in/on customer service.

She says: Good morning! This is Tina at/ in /on customer service at Toys World.



4. I worked as a customer service staff with / for / at Toys World.



I worked in / at a freight forwarding company .



I also took ( a ) training course in airfreight handling in/at my previous company.



5. We have scheduled the meeting for June 13th. (Can I use "on"? and would the sentence take on a different meaning?) Much like "I have an appointment for 10am" and " We have invited the guests for 9pm"



6. I'm at home talking to my mother. I say: I enjoy the recess at / in school.



7. I'm at school playing with my classmates. I say to my classmate, Tim: I enjoy the recess at / in school.



8. I'm a little behind (at?) my household. (I read one of the threads, which is great and it says we can use "fall behind with/in/on you rent")



9. I'm reading files of documents in my study room, my mom is showing up in/at my door asking me to take a rest. I says: I'm behind (on?) this file.



10 I'm sending my overseas colleague an email asking him: Please advise the arrival date for / of the shipment. ( This is like: The problem of paper is giving most coporate companies a headache and The problem with paper is cost)



11. The party is now cancelled. I say to Tom: Don't let this make a dent in/ on your spirit.



12. Harry is coma and he may ever wake up again. The doctor asks his wife if she's ready to pull the plug. And his wife says: I'm afrad to make the life and death descision on / for Harry. (it recalls to sentences like "Don't walk out on me, don't die on me..."



13. He advises Mary to seek second opinion.



He advises Mary to seek (for?) second opinion.



14. The baby is sucking (on?) a pacifier. ( Does "on" here have a sense of continuing action? or simply we could leave it out of the sentence.)



15. "Don't fight me" and "Don't fight with me" ( Any different meaning here?)



16. John has just been admitted to the hospital with / for a heart attack.



17. You came back from an interview: And I say: How'd it go with/at the interview.



18. The company is loacated in / at unit 18, 8th floor, Summerset building, 90 King's road.



19. I'm calling my overseas colleague right now to check the specific fuel surcharge. I say: Would you check (for?) the fuel surcharge? (Is for here relunctant or it's a must?)



20. A statue in bronze (What about "of")



Thank you for your time. (I happened to read one of the threads that explains the preposition for location and position in great details and I couldn't find it now. I remember it ends with something like" Right now I'm sitting at my computer in my office at home" )

I just have a few questions from the answers not clear. I'd hope you could help out. Sorry for keeping you. My questions are in purple. Thank you

1. If I rented a booth at a trade show, I need internet access "in" the booth. Later, I'm telling the client on the phone. I say: The internet access in the booth is not ready. Are the prepositions correct?
