Some people think it is more important to spend money on roads and motorways rather than on public transport systems. To what extend do you agree?

It is a controversial issue as to whether government should spend more money on roads and motorways or public transport systems. Personally, I advocate that budget should be dedicated to the later

Even though investment in roads is extremely essential, it also has certain limitations in the long term. It is clear that there is no denying that road expansion enhances the demand for traveling, which is a key reason of traffic jam. A good illustration is that in a variety of large metropolises streets have upgraded every day, but the rate of traffic gridlock does not seem to dwindle. As far as environmental matters are concerned, the more personal vehicles are utilized, the more exhaust fume, which is one of the factors seriously causing pollution, are emitted. Hence, authorities should incline another practical solution.

With regard to the public transport systems, it is comprehensively beneficial for leaders to cope with traffic and environmental troubles in the future. Because of the capacity plenty of people in one public vehicle, so they are space-saving cars and trains. Therefore, if more commuters go to work by bus, the volume of transport on streets will decrease, which leads to the reduction of traffic congestion. Besides, the public transport systems also contribute to fuel and energy saving. Thus, it has a tremendous meaning for environmental conservation and public health.

In conclusion, subsidizing more money on public vehicles is completely crucial and effective as a prime method of traffic gridlock and pollution in the long term.
