Please help me with Writing Task 2

It is more important for school children to learn about local history than world history.

To what extent do you agree/ disagree?

It is believed that learning local history plays an indispensable role to pupils rather than learning world history. I partly agree with this notion.

There are a number of reasons why many advocate the idea of knowing dosmetic history is more crucial to youngsters. To begin with, if the young generation have a throughout inside into what their ancestors have done to protect the peoples from invaders and reclaim sovereignty, they will somehow feel the patriotism deep down and treasure their life as it is today. In addition, it is school children’s right and responsibility to accumulate knowledge about their hometown, traditional values and identity. Pupils would acquire a comprehensive understanding about the beauty of the dosmetic culture and take pride into their origin. Therefore, in this day and age, studying local history is a privotal task for children.

However, children need more to achieve a well-rounded perspective of life and having a good grasp of world history is a way. Holding a firm historical background regarding the diverse culture would become a factor of paramount importance to anyone who would like to join the workforce, as Vietnamese people are now having more access to the world than ever before. Another reason is that more and more people want to seek for a job at international organizations and enterprises. Therefore, if one understands that multi-cutural characteristic, he/she would possess a golden selling point to affect employer’s decisions. Further more, this would also help he/she feels easier to fit in at the workplace where his/her colleages are mostly foreigners.

In conclusion, attaining knowledge about both domestic history and global history is undeniably important to the young and I believe that none of the two is outweigh the advantages and necessities that the other brings.
