The provided line graph gives information about the percentages of population aging between 65 and above from 1940 and 2040 in the USA, Sweden and Japan. As is observed, this group of age has been becoming more and more popular in three nations.

During the first period of twenty years, the figures for the USA and Sweden experienced a similar increase of nearly 7%. Forty years later, while the proportion of people in the sixties in Sweden has undergone an unstable phase, that of the USA is projected to rise consistently from 14% to 16%, despite a long period of exponential decrease. 2040 is anticipated to observe a dramatic rise of approximately 6% in both figures.

Between 1940 and 1960, in comparison to the percentages of old people in the USA and Sweden, which both increased considerably, that of Japan went down from 5% to a disappointing low of 3%. Thirty years after, this figure remained static before growing dramatically to 10% in 2030. The last day is expected to witness a surge in the elderly population, ending at a promising high of 27%.
