Letter Writing

Please help me with writing a reference.

I am trying to write a reference from a supervisor who can attest to the student’s Experience with written English. This is for an English proficiency exam waiver request. The supervisor and the student are both in the army. The student is a foreign born. This is what I tried to write. Please check it and correct it if any correction is needed. If you would like to add or recommend different sentences, please do so. Thank you in advance.

Dear UMUC Admissions Committee,

I am writing to you in connection with your request for evidence of written English proficiency of my soldier Rajesh Raj. I would like to certify that Rajesh Raj who is applying for your university meets your written English proficiency requirement.

He has been living in the US since 2012. He has been in the army for almost four years as an active duty soldier. He is able to communicate in written English fluently. As a supply specialist in the army, he had alway had to communicate with people in written English most of the time and there has never been any issue at all.

I have no hesitation in giving reference for admission to your university. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at ——————.

Sincerely,

Adam Smith.
