Dear Chief of Department,

I am writing to express my interest in the Clinical Clerkship opportunity available on the professional exchange opportunities of the International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA). At this time I am pursuing to do a practice on the discipline of Radiology, specifically and if possible in Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit. Within this program, I am focusing my studies on the branch of the medicine I like the most. I consider that for proper medical therapy an adequate diagnosis is necessary.

Being a radiologist is my dream and my goal in the medium term is to study Radiology in a country as advanced in science as Germany. Unfortunately in my country, there are few diagnostic centers that have MRI and consequently few doctors know how to interpret it. Even many patients who need it are unable to perform this study because they do not have access to it. This is why I would like to perform the Clinical Clerkship in your department and Hospital.

As a personal goal to devote my life to find new ideas and methods in order to advance mankind's health in Guatemala, experience as a clinical clerkship in a great hospital in high technology country like in Munich Germany is very important for me. This is why English is my second language and besides, I have received lessons of basic German language, because one of my dreams is to study a specialty abroad. In addition in 2014, I was selected as best student of human anatomy by my university, as I specify in my resume, a skill that greatly helps me in my future as a radiologist.

During the past five years at university in Guatemala, I gained a great theoretical and practical knowledge in medical sciences thanks to my practice in other departments such as General Surgery, Internal Medicine, and others like Family Medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, and obstetrics by the time of my arrival in Germany, I personally believe that my experiences and education make me a strong candidate for this particular clinical clerkship in your hospital.

My prior experience, as well as my skills and knowledge, will help me to achieve this practice with you. Preferably I would like to do it during the month of February 2018, as part of my University studies and clinical clerkship abroad.
