Please help me with this essay- IELTS writing task 2.
People should follows the customs and traditions when people start to live in a new country.
To what extent do you agree or disagree ?
It is argue that the customs and traditions of new nation should be followed by newcomers when they come to reside. I completely agree with this view.
There are two main consequences that an immigrant may get if they do not adapt to their host country’s customs and traditions. First thing we can see clearly that person will hard to blend into society or worst they can be separated from everyone and become lonely because of not obey that country’s law. For example, newcomers should not litter in Singapore if they do not want to be fined extremely heavy by the Government. Furthermore, not conforming with new customs and traditions can lead to many disadvantages like an entrepreneur will not able to start their business in a new country unless they know that nation well enough in order not to break the law. Besides that, their business will develop dramatically if they understand the needs of people of that market place.
Apart from the practical disadvantages expressed above, I believe that the benefit that integrations can have when they adopt new customs and traditions. Firstly, the great profit that an immigrant can get used to with the norms of social behavior and avoid unlawful actions. Not only newcomers can explore new things from new culture but also have mutual understanding. For instance, if integrations have a prestigious knowledge about that country, they can be invited to their festival to enjoy joyfulness with local people. Moreover, understanding about host country also helps newcomers to express their respect to that country customs and traditions and make local people have a better look about integration’s country.
In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, I strongly believe that people should adapt to new customs and traditions of the country where they come to do their residence.
