Some people say we should prioritize human lives over nature when dealing with the effect of global warming, others say otherwise. To what extent do you agree or disagree? You should write in 250 words.

Global warming has affected the Earth including humans and nature in many ways, along with that is the debate between whether they should put more emphasis on human lives or on nature. In my viewpoint, I partly agree with the statement that human lives should be prioritized over nature.

First of all, humans are the species that mainly cause global warming by their actions. Over time, the use of fossil fuel rising leads to the emissions of greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide and many more, which trap heat from the Sun in the atmosphere. This phenomenon impacts heavily on various aspects of nature such as global warming causing the glaciers to melt, raise the sea levels and lead to flooding. Moreover, because of the thin ozone layer, the Earth now has to suffer from frequent and intense heat waves that are given off by the Sun and also lead to extreme weather conditions such as droughts, hurricanes and contribute to the biodiversity loss by eradicating animals’ habitats and reducing the diversity of species including plants and animals. All of these reasons have put our nature in an alarming situation.

On the other hand, not only global warming affects nature but people’s lives are also in danger. Since human health is affected by many spreading diseases which are heat-related illnesses such as malaria and respiratory problems due to air pollution. Not only that, the rising temperature is contributing to water shortage, affecting human health, agriculture economy and food security. People in third-world countries are the ones suffering most from global warming since many poor regions are hard to reach out for medical service and some places are becoming too hostile to live as it is so barren or drought.

To summarize, we should not prioritize human lives over nature since both are very important and because nature largely affects human lives, we should protect nature since then our lives would also be better.
