Please help me with this essay
Children should always follow their parents’ advice. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement.
Give reasons for your answer and include ant relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 175 words.
Some people say that children should always listen to their parents’ guidance, while others argue that it is not always right. I believe that children should follow their parent’s advice when they are young, but they should learn how to make decisions when they are older.
Young children do not understand the difference between right or wrong so they tend to behave incorrectly and parents are the best persons to help them this. For example, a young child often does somethings what they want without thinking about consequences which are good or bad and a parent should be there to teaches them. Parents always know how to do the best thing to their children, thus their advice is valuable.
On the other hand, when children are older they should pay less attention to their parents. Making decisions provide children with the opportunity to be more independent and responsible in the real life. For example, if they cause a negative consequence, they will gain valuable experience of this. Today the world develops everyday so their time may be different from their parents. Therefore, their advice may not be proper for the condition.
In conclusion, parents need to give their children advice when they are young but now how to live when they are older.
