Please help me with these sentences

Hi. Please help.

1. Is the question correct? There are two sentences and the person wants to ask whether it is correct or not. Is the question worded correctly? I think the question "Are the following sentences correct?" is correct.

Q: Is the following correct?

1. This is pen.
2. He comes home yesterday.

2. Is this correct?

Someone might joke saying, "Oh, that was just a joke. I was kidding," but others (someone else?) might take it seriously and get hurt by it.

It should instead say, "Are the following correct?". Or if you wanted to be even more formal, it may be better for the question to read, "Are the following statements correct?". This is because the word "Is" is referring to multiple statements, as opposed to just one.
