Please help me with the word choices here.

A guy is at a bar drinking his sorrows away. A woman there tells him that she has just lost someone close too. But the guy just nods and turns back to his drink. Too drunk and too consumed by/engrossed in his own problems for it to have/make any impact/impression/effect on him right now.


My question is about the last sentence. What word choices would fit the context? Thank you.
