Please help me with task 2 essay, topic: Language

It is true that a few languages are used by minority are becoming extinct. Although some people argue that governments should avoid wasting money for supports, I personally believe that it is considerably necessary to maintain and protect these languages.

There are several reasons why people might disapprove of spending money to save languages in their country. Firstly, preserving language expends a great amount of money on setting programmes for a small groups of people, while other social issues such as making homes for homeless people, raising money for charity, constructing public buildings also need to be improved. Secondly, in their own countries, it has only a national language spoken by the majority of residents. If they have more than one language, they will get confused in communication and uncomfortable to express their feeling with each other.

However, I would argue that the action of protecting languages is beneficial in some ways. The development of minority languages bound up with traditional culture. That means, if we focus on keeping these unique languages, we are able to preserve the diversity of tradition, customs or ways of life in our country. Besides, it also encourages tourism industry with providing accommodation and knowledge for travellers to visit other splendid areas. Also, people feel more sympathy and ready for helping the poor with their ability as soon as they have a chance.

In conclusion, it seems to me that these governments should significantly support language preservation rather than keep budgets if they consider the benefit of its clearly.
