Please help me with reviewing my IELTS task 2 essay

Traditional classrooms in the past held lectures with multiple participants. Now that technology makes it easier and faster for students to access information, the need for traditional classroom discussion is becoming less popular. It’s because the internet is a more effective method than the regular classroom.

The proliferation of technology has introduced variety of methods and tools to make education become more accessible to human. Nowadays, there are thousands of online courses, which are inconceivable to the horse-and –buggy generation in the turn of the 19^th century. These courses, offer an alternative way to deliver knowledge to students. However, it does not mean that a traditional lecture that is held in classroom would be replaced.

Providing education at low price, online courses seems to be an efficient option to acquire knowledge. For example, Coursera is one of the websites that associate with the most prestigious universities to provide free education for people in over the world. Using this website, learners can access to millions of lectures, extra reading materials and exercises without physically going to a classroom. To get certificates, learners are required to pay a small amount of fee of $49 which is relatively less costly than signing up for a singular course in University. Taking into consideration that financial cost is a pertinent factor of education choice, reducing the price of education would attract a significant number of young learners. There is evidence to suggest that cost, more so than preference, influences students’ choice of education. In 2005, in a survey that conducted by Vietnam Ministry of Education, most young people’ education related decision were made, bases on their commensuration between their financial conditions and enrollment fee.

However, it doesn’t mean that the traditional classroom would be precluded. Since learning is an activity marked by humanity, it works best with human interaction. Assuming providing well trained and high skill labor is the function of education. Traditional educational institution not only equips learners with knowledge but also offer them opportunities to develop skills that cannot be fostered through studying online.

In fact, a graduate is required to possess certain practical skills such as communication skills and teamwork. These skills can be developed during studying time in class and doing assignment.

Moreover, the guiding of professor would help student to study more effectively. Working with professors in face to face classes, students could instantly get the answers or suggestions for their questions about the lessons. In contrast, it takes quite a time to process and provide instructors’ feedback to online learners. Even online learners might develop self discipline and self study through the time learning online course, they would have to navigate themselves through the enormous information before getting to know what they need to at the first place. This struggle might be mitigated with the help of the professors and tutors in traditional classroom.

In conclusion, with the development of technology, young leaners have been exposed to numerous new ways of learning more than ever. Even though, traditional lectures are not necessarily precluded since it holds certain comparative advantages in training high skill and fully developed labor.
