please help me with present perfect.
Present perfect tense can be used to show mostly three meanings. They are experience,continuing action and results.
A. I have been to India.(showing experience)
B. I have washed my hands.(showing a result)
C. I have been sick for 3 days. (Action started in the past and continues in the present)
If my understanding is correct with above sentences, I have a question. Can we use periods of time like for 2 hours, since September with all three sentences above with the same meaning ,the same functions or using time periods change the meaning? Please explain.
If I say,
A. I have been to India for 2 months. Does it still shows experience and mean I have been to India at least once for 2 months? ??
B. I have washed my hands for 10 minutes. Does it still show results? ??
C. I have been sick. I used without a period of time. Does it show experience or something else? ?
CAN WE USE THE SAME SENTENCE TO SHOW ALL THREE MEANINGS EXPERIENCE,RESULTS AND CONTINUING ACTION? ?
