The graph illustrates the data about the number of women and men who have gym membership over 30 years between 1980 and 2010
Overall, What stands for from the graph, there was a significant upward trend in the number of female gym membership while the male saw a considerable downward trend over the period in question. Another striking point is that the male gym membership showed the highest figure in the first year but this figure was lowest in the last year of the period
Looking at the details, in 1980 the amount of female gym membership was about 1000 people and then it increased significantly to above 2000 people, While the figure for male started at above 2000 and fluctuated to the same level with the female. Over the 10 years, both the male and female witnessed a fluctuated change. The figure for men gym membership fell at about 1800 people in 1995 and then rose slightly to nearly 2200 people, By contrast, the number of women increased and then dropped to the same level as men in 2000
Over 10 years after 2000, the amount of men gym membership reached a peak at 5000 people in 2005 then plummeted rapidly at under 1000 people in 2010, while the figure for women went up slightly at nearly 3000 and then fell gradually to under 2000 in 2010
