Please help me with my writing task 2!

The media should include more stories which report good news. To what
extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people believe that more positive news should be included by the media. I agree that good news should appear more frequently because of their benefits.

Positive news is very important for a society. People tend to be affected positively by good news. These news can raise people’s spirit and encourage them to work harder or make more good things in their lives. Stories about successful businessmen, scientists and sportsmen can motivate people to strive to accomplish their goals or dreams. People’s trust in their government will be improved if they hear more about government policies on supporting the poor or improving quality of life. For example, the achievements of Vietnam national football team in recent years are a source of motivation for the entire country and strengthen the national unity.

On the other hand, negative news have their own benefits. They can raise awareness of citizens about dangers or injustice. Moreover, bad news show existing problems and challenges in their society; therefore, people will be better prepared for difficult situations. However, bad news can cause negative impacts on people. People will feel unsafe and lose faith in law and security if news about criminals, thefts and burglaries keep appearing on the media. Economic decline, tragic accidents and similar news can depress citizens and prevent them from being motivated. Therefore, good news should be included more in difficult times to inspire people.

In conclusion, more stories of good news should be reported by the media because these news have positive impact on society.
