Title: Popular events like the football World Cup and other international sporting occasions are essential in easing international tensions and releasing patriotic emotions in a safe way. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Over different eras, international sporting occasions such as Olympics were held in order to create connections among nations for the purpose of global peace. No one can ignore the crucial part which these games play in not only eliminating international tensions but also relieving patriotism in a secure way.

Participating in the events like World Cup, despite the difference in culture, people share the mutual concern that is sports. They tend to get closer since having same interests. For instance, at the World Cup match of Japan team, their supporters can be either Japanese fans or American ones. They possibly sit in the stadium stand for Japanese team's fan, greet and shake hands as if they have been friends for a very long time. In the other hand, sports trigger to create a strong bond between athletes. Olympics were established a long time ago, however, its effect to human being can not be denied. During World War, in spite of dramatic tensions in the world, Olympics was still held and seemed to break any barriers at that time. Even nowadays, in modern Olympics, the same example can be seen as the North Korea and the South Korean players gave each other a hug since they had just fought another a few minutes ago.

Sporting events also observe the patriotism among the athletes as well as the supporters. Representative of your country is how patriotic emotions are released . The feelings can not be described by words when you hear your national anthem played in other countries, especially when you are the winning athlete who make this nationalistic moment happened.

More than the purpose of entertainment, international sporting festivals aim to ease tensions between different cultures as well as to raise patriotic emotions in a safer way.
