The line graph compares the percentage of European people of different age groups who went to gym once a month or more between 1990 and 2010. Four age groups shown: 18-24, 25-34, 35-44 and 45 and over.

Overall, there were more people visiting to gym in 2010 compared to 1990 in all age groups. The percentage of people in the oldest group, 45 and over, was consistently the lowest over the period.

In detail, people in the 25-34 group went to gym the most over the initial eight years, but it was overtaken by people in the 18-24 group around 1998, at around 30%. After that, the youngest age group became the most popular of the four; at the end of the period, nearly 60% of people in the 18-24 group visited to gym, with 8% more than the 25-34 group, which was in second place. There was a significant rise from about 5% to just under 40% in the proportion of people in the 35-44 group. Only 3% of people in the oldest group went to gym in 1990, after which it gradually increased to over 20% in the last year.
