The table gives data on the global market share of notebook computer companies at two consecutive times: 2006 and 2007.

Overall, HP led the notebook computer market in both years, while Toshiba, Lenovo and Fujutsu-Siemens kept the smallest share shown on the table.

HP were clearly ahead in terms of selling their notebook computers for two years, with 31.4% of the total in 2006 and slight more (34%) in 2007. This is a greater market share than their two closet competitors, Dell and Acer, added together. Dell increased their market share from 16.6% to 20.2%. By contrast, there was an insignificant decline in Acer’s share of the market by 0.9%.

The other companies which were list on the table had a much smaller share of the computer market. Between 2006 and 2007, the market share of Toshiba grew from 6.2% to 7.3%; meanwhile, Lenovo’s decreased inconsiderably and Fujutsu-Siemens’ more than halved from 4.8% to only 2.3%. Besides that, other notebook computer manufacturers accounted for 22.8% of the total in 2006 – more than all the companies mentioned except HP, but they made up 19.3% of the total sales of notebook computer in the following year.

Thank you so much!
