Please help me with my Ielts task 2

Task 2: In the modern world, people are no longer necessary to use food from animals or product from animals such as medicine and clothing. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Using animals as a source of food, clothing or medicine is a widespread practice, but it is not without controversy. Nowadays, the breakthroughs in science and technology have brought people with the idea that the use of animal is no longer vital. I completely agree with this statement there are alternatives in switching from meats to plants in diet and the use of synthesized fabric in clothing or mushrooms and seaweeds in medication.

First, plant-based food is believed to be healthier than meats. Plants such as beans or nuts are proved to be nutritious as much as meats without causing any risks of cancer. For example, that the Roman gladiators are all vegetarians has proved vegetarian diet to be superior to meat-based meals. In addition, the process of killing an animal for food usually involves tremendous pains; thus, this can be regarded as unethical in some people’s opinions.

Additionally, there are alternative materials in replace of clothes made from animals. As a way of illustration, synthesized fabric is currently dominating the market instead of wool from sheep fur. These inventions are claimed to be softer than sheep fur, thereby being the overwhelming preferences for customers. Moreover, the use of animals in medication can be eliminated. This is due to the fact that other materials such as seaweeds and mushrooms can be utilized to create medicines, the role of animal-based medicines is no longer essential. Furthermore, many animals such as monkeys or rats are abused in experimentation. This are claimed to be morally wrong in some people’s perspectives.

In conclusion, the use of animals should either be reduced or abandoned by virtue of vegetarian diet in food and alternatives materials in clothing and medication.
