Diagrams A and B show the changes that occurred to Sorrel Cottage and its surroundings from 1980 to 2002. In overall, the land around Sorrel Cottage was enlarged and new additions were made on it over time.

The major changes were the area expansion which occurred successively in 1983 and 1985. The plot purchased in 1983 was almost equal in size and in the south of the original garden. A very large house was built on it in the period between 1986 and 1988 before trees was grown in its eastern side in 1996.

Another plot which was bought in 1985 lied in the eastern part of the garden and again doubled its size. Two rows of trees were planted in 1996 in both the northern and southern parts of this area. Additionally, in the same southern part, a vegetable garden was grown in 1990. Only one year prior to that and in the opposite side, they had already planted orchard flowers.

The year of 1990 also witnessed the appearance of a pond that was located in the eastern side of Sorrel Cottage. The latest change belonged to the period between 2000 and 2001 when an open-air swimming pool was built right to the south of the cottage.

In nearly 22 years, the garden surrounded Sorrel Cottage was expanded two times and tripled in size. It became a larger land with different additions of plants, a house and water containment.
