Discuss both views and give your opinion
Some people think that parents have the greatest influence on their child’s academic development, while others think that a child’s teacher had more influence.
my essay:
People have differing views about whether children’s educational growth are most influenced by their parents or teachers. In my opinion, both parties play complementary roles.
On the one hand, parents are an integral part of a child’s educational journey. First, the degree of a parent’s financial support greatly impacts their children’s education. For instance, parents who are willing to invest in their child's education by sending them to high-quality schools, hiring tutors, or purchasing educational resources have a better chance of seeing their child achieve high academic performance.. Second, parents’ attitudes toward academics have a significant impact on their children’s study habits and academic performance. Through emphasizing the importance of education, maybe by asking about the children’s classes and helping them with homework, they can encourage their children to take their studies seriously. In contrast, children who have parents that do not show interest in their schooling tend to skip classes and do not do homework, and in some extreme cases, dropping out of school.
On the other hand, teachers are equally important in a student’s scholastic development. When a teacher is knowledgeable in their subject matter and possesses the ability to present the lecture in a clear and understandable manner and provide regular assessment tests and constructive feedback, their students are able to grasp the material and retain it over time more easily and improve their learning capacity, hence improving their academic performance. Thus, a teacher’s knowledge and teaching ability exert a great impact on students’ scholastic growth. Additionally, students need a conducive learning environment in the classroom in order to stay focused on the lecture and effectively assimilate the information. That is certainly the duty of teachers. They can correct disruptive behaviors such as making loud noises or encourage students to actively participate in learning. This fosters a quiet, positive, and supportive atmosphere that can make it easier for students to understand and engage in the lecture.
In conclusion, parents’ attitudes towards the importance of education and their willingness to invest in their children’s schooling, along with teachers’ professional expertise and their control over the classroom atmosphere, together shape a child’s academic journey. Respectively, both have equal influences on students’ scholastic outcomes.
