Sitting in my room with my dog. Anywhere with my dog. Anywhere with animals to be honest. This is where I am happy. Free of all judgment and criticism. Free to be with my dog- free to be myself. When people think of dogs, they think of an animal that gets hair everywhere, or just a pet that takes up too much space. That’s not entirely false, but dogs are so much more than what we give them credit for. They aren’t just some mindless beast with no brain and no soul; dogs are some of the truest characters in this world- have the truest souls; free of all hatred and anger. They are full of love and compassion. I know that when I am with my dog I am free to do whatever I want, say whatever I want, without fear of being judged for any of my mistakes. They are not judgmental characters; they are loving and loyal creatures. Dogs don’t care what you look like, how you dress; they love you all the same if you show them the same love and compassion. When around someone else, some people, not all, try and mask who they truly are; watch what they say, watch what they do; change what they look like. All because they are afraid they might not fit in or they might not be liked. I’m not saying it’s wrong; it feels good to be liked, but dogs accept you for your true personality, your true looks, including your flaws, whereas any normal person would not. A lot of people believe that dogs do not pay attention, or that they do not listen or care, but they are some of the most attentive creatures I know. You can talk to them about anything; they listen. They may not understand every word you say, but they still listen. They silently accept your words and love you no matter what you say or do.
