Everyone should follow the customs and traditions when people start to live in a new country. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Many people argue that foreigners should adapt to local customs and traditions when they come to reside in a new country. From my perspective, I totally agree with this point of view.

It might be possible that he immigrants have to confront some crucial problems if they do not conform to the norms of social behaviors. Firstly the fact that newcomers cannot blend into new environment can act as a deterrent for themselves to lead a convenient and easy life. For example, some entrepreneurs may find it challenging to conduct their business in such an efficient manner if they do follow traditional customs. As a result, they hardly break into new market and arouse interest from local residents, their potential target audience. Another disadvantage could probably be newcomers may fall foul of regulations imposed by local government. For instance, some people was regarded as ill-mannered when having spitted chewing gum and littered the streets in Singapore.

In addition, following local customs and traditions can have some blindingly obvious benefits. If new residents show their respect for the local way of life, they will easily gain the hospitality and acceptance from the native. Consequently, the establishment of closer links will can lead to mutual understanding among people, which can prevent the new ones from isolation. Besides, newcomers will have more chances to receive richness of experiences when they are exposed themselves to traditional festivals, affairs and long-established ceremonies as well. For examples, some Chinese in England celebrity New Year festival to show their time-honored respects to British traditional custom.

In conclusion, I absolutely support the idea that people who move to new regions should adjust themselves to local traditions and customs.
