00Cai Guo-Qiang gives interesting comparisons to cars suspended from the ceiling. While they are placed vertically, a herd of tigers running makes a long horizontal line. Tigers are on the top in food-chainsystem, and cars take the top priority on the street. By selecting subjects that seem powerful as victims of violence, the artist create a strong impactfrom violence represented by arrows lodged in tigers and neon bars stuck incars. 02br

00His gun power drawings convey a sense of violence even further. Material itself makes a strong voice. Neither Neon bars nor arrows are methods that are actually used for war or terror; however, by using gun powder that is being widely used, the artists generates a dramatic sensation ofviolence. 02br

00Cai Guo-Qiang does not merely present violence, he tells the audience that we can use wisdom instead of bomb. 01i00Borrowing Your Enemy's Arrows02i00 (1998) is a wooden ship in which many arrows lodge in. The story goes back to an old Chinese historical tale. There was an war between two countries. A tactician of one them got his men to drive ships to the enemy’s camp at night. A few soldiers in the ships made loud noise to scare the enemy, but00 00the ships were actually empty. Not knowing the truth, the enemy wasted arrows to shoot the empty ships. The wise tactician kept fooling his antagonist into squandering arrows for a few days. Finally, the enemy had to surrender after wasting all the arrows. Of course, the old story does not perfectly fit in ourtime. Nevertheless, it is valuable to know that the artists suggests a wise andpeaceful way rather than using violent methods to end conflict. 02br

00 I don't know why those words stuck together. There are spaces in the original documents, but after I copy&paste here, some words glue each other. 0-
