I like Likeguslee's comments, except for the first "note," which I would change to one of the suggestions as "Negotiate for the costs of bands, banners, flyers, posters, etc., with local businesses in exchange for a listing as an event sponsor." Or something similar. You can often get a great discount on printing (or have a business cover the cost of printing) provided you list that business with
