In several countries nowadays, product's life cycle is relatively short due to people's habit of throwing things away even if they're still in good conditions. This trend stem from several factors and could be negative to our life, which will be discussed in this essay.
As human ascended to the era of modern technology development, we have a tendency to take things for granted. Our daily necessities could be easily purchased anywhere with a decent amount of money. Therefore, people do not feel the need to treasure what they have got out of them since they could be obtain just within the blink of an eye which also makes throwing things away sounds light-hearted. Additionally, excessive consumer culture promoted by commercial advertisement is also a cause of this throw-away society. All companies care about is their sales which could be boosted by persuading customer to buy from them as much as possible. As a result, new models come at an extremely fast pace and make consumers swayed then feel the urge to leave the old ones behind even though those are still in decent condition.
Problems coming from throw-away society is quite serious consider a long term. First of all, it is a waste of money to individual's finance. Quite a lot could be saved by making the most out of an item before disposing it. Excessive spending on something of no necessity can result in financial burden and insufficient savings. Secondly, severe environmental effects could also be a consequence. The waste materials coming along when a product is discharged would be harmful to the nature and without proper waste treatment, environmental deterioration is expected.
All in all, throwing items away too quickly is a negative way of consuming and should be eliminated, otherwise, it could cause serious matters to the society as a whole.
