Please help me with a few sentences:

Hi, I just need to know if these sentences are written correctly, thank you!

1. I think cats are cute and they move quickly.

(My original was "I think cats are cute and move quickly." Is 'they' necessary?)

2. My teacher said I needed to do better on my next exam.

(My original was "My teacher said that I needed to do better on my next am. Is 'that' necessary?)

3. How do you picture high school life to be?

(My original was "How do you picture high school life to be like?" Is 'like' necessary?)

4. In a magazie, I heard Jane dated Luke and that they were hanging out in Riverside Park.

(Do I need to add the 'that'?)

2. 'That' is optional.

3. You cannot use both 'how' and 'like'. 'How' = 'What...like'.

4. I would move 'that' to before 'Jane'
