Please help me understand the concept below

In participle clause, I have seen a concept saying 'an action that is the result of another action'

and the examples of this concept are

'Moments later a bomb exploded, leaving three people dead and twelve others injured.
When I entered they all looked at me, making me feel uncomfortable.'

I don't understand the concept clearly. Could you please simplify the concept so that I can understand it easily?
