Please help me to understand "reason"

Hello,
In Cambridge dictionaries, "reason" is given this definition:

reason: the cause of an event or situation or something which provides an excuse or explanation;

I try to show my understanding and ask your commends and suggestions.

e.g. She was sick. (A thing) results in She took some medicine. (B thing)

Under the direction of the definition of the "reason", A causes B and A provides an excuse or explanation for B.

Please give me your commends and suggestions.

Thank you for your help.

There appears to be a problem.
They are for HOW not for WHY.
HOW is on the subject of "because", "so", "as a result of","resut in";

WHY is about "for the purpose of " / "for the reason of"/ "provide reason / explanation / excuse for"

The word of reason is used for WHY.
