Topic: Do the dangers derived from the use of chemicals in food production and preservation outweigh the advantages.

Nowadays, chemicals are utilized to produce and preserve food under many conditions and purposes. Even though they have some benefits, I believe that they potentially exist with more severe dangers impacting on the human and environment than their advantages.

Chemicals bring a lot of benefits to the food industry. Without them, several foods cannot be used for a long period or even be damaged very soon. For example, with fruits, after using some special chemicals, they can be kept green in a normal condition and extended the out-date day. Some other chemicals are used in food to provide more flavors and colors so that they can be more attractive and tasty. Chemicals are also used to increase the absorption of food in our bodies.

Nevertheless, many of them are announced with a small negative effect or even safety, in my opinion, we should consider them seriously when using chemicals to produce and preserve foods. The amount of chemicals used in some foods is too difficult to measure, especially with a normal consumer. Most of the chemicals cannot be absorbed easily for example artificial colors and flavors. After a long period, these chemicals can be aggregated and accumulated in some organs, and then cause many diseases and cancers. Some of them can result in severe allergic to users and even thrive their lives. Others affect many generations such as reducing the ability of fertility or causing early puberty in boys and girls.

With several potential dangers above, I strongly argue that we should consider carefully using them as well as encouraging us to alternate with natural sources although there are many benefits from using chemical foods.
