The diagrams describe the stages of a silkworm development and the steps to produce silk cloth from cocoon. Overall, the life cycle of the silk worm stretches through 4 main steps from birth to reproduction and the process of creating silk cloth lasts 5 steps.
On the first step, silk eggs are laid in a leaf and settle there for 10 days before hatching a silkworm larva. To survive, the larva eats mulberry leaf as the main source of food. Four to six weeks later, the silk is produced and circle around the larva to create a silk thread on the outside of it. After 3 to 8 days, it becomes a cocoon completely and the initial larva goes out of the cocoon to be a moth. The moth begins its reproductive stage and the life cycle continues.
The material of the silk cloth production is the cocoon of the silk worm. Firstly, the cocoon is selected and then being boiled in water in a big pot. After that, people use the boiled cocoon to unwind in the thread of 300 to 900m before twisting it. Finally, the twisted one can be dyed immediately in a pot or being weaved before the last step.
