Report research suggests that majority of criminals who were sent to prison would commit crimes when they are set free. What do you think of this case? What to be done to solve this problem?

Base on the research, it is found that most of the offenders in the prison would commit crimes after release from prison. This essay will firstly explore root causes contributing to this phenomenon and simultaneously offer some viable solutions.

One of the leading causes is that the rehabilitated criminals would not find the feeling of belonging in society, so they prefer to commit crimes to go back to prison. To effectively cope with this problem, the central government should legislate relevant policy to help rehabilitated offenders to find jobs. For instance, some companies should preserve some vacancies for specific jobs. At the same time, the government would give the companies allowance as feedback. In addition, local authority ought to establish a group for people who are set free from prison. Rehabilitated people in the group are able to make friends with each other and find a sense of belonging. The local authority also needs to send a supervisor to the group in order to avoid those people re-offend together.

Another chief reason is that the criminals are lack of awareness about the right things and the wrong things. Hence, they probably re-offend after finishing the imprisonment. In an attempt to solve the problem, the government needs to educate criminals when they are in prison. The prisoners not only can learn markable skills but understand what they have done are terrible. The most essential thing is that they totally introspect themselves. Moreover, if it is possible, they have to give victims face to face apologies. Confronting their mistakes is the most effective method to make them stop reoffending.

In conclusion, it is the fact that many offenders may commit crimes again since they do not be welcomed by the public and do not have enough awareness. I hold the belief that the issue will be tackled once the government and societies learn to cooperate together.
