It is commonly believed that international tourism service has brought several benefits to both tourist and the host nations. While many people think that international travel is without demerits, I believe that the upsides will justify these beliefs.

On the one hand, environmental degradation and cultural problem are two major concerns about the increase of international travel. In term of environmental perspective, the rise of international travel is likely to result in overtourism, which brings about several alarming environmental issues. For instance, because the expanding number of vehicles using for tourism service, the tourist destinations will be suffer from noise pollution and air pollution, which also cause the detrimental impact on tourist health. In terms of cultural perspective, international tourism contributes to the decay of local culture. In fact, in many places, traditional and historical buildings are replaced with the high-rise hotel, shopping mall and other infrastructures serving the influx of travelers. Travelers, in turns, will lose their chance to view those cultural heritages.

On the other hand, international travel generates considerable benefits to the attractions. First, by attracting a soaring number of tourists, countries have great opportunity to boost the economy. Travelers tend to consume a great deal of local products as well as use the local services, which not only creates more income to the host nations but also generates more job opportunities. Second, international travel plays in essential role in improving the education of the host nation. For example, many students in Vietnam have been learning English by communicating with foreign travelers. By doing that way, Vietnamese youngsters are witnessing the significant improvement in their foreign language ability. Tourists also gain the benefit from this since they could have free tour guide.

In conclusion, both host countries and tourists received that benefit from international travel. While there are a number of disadvantages, I believed that the merits of international travel will overshadow its demerits.
