Grammar

please help me to improve or correct this one

I will assist my father-in-law who will be arriving in Manila from Osamis Occidental.

Top answer

I would put a comma before "who". Otherwise the English looks fine, but more context is needed to fully establish that "assist" is the right word.

"assist" may be correct. It is not possible to know for sure, or to make any other suggestion, without knowing more about what you will be doing for your father-in-law.

It is the first time of my father to be here in Manila and he is not yet familiar with the place, i mean from the airport to our place, and i'll be the one to [assist] him from the airport and bring him home....is the term ASSIST right?

I'd just say 'meet'. If he hasn't been there before, there is a strong implication that you will be helping him.
