His parents took Bogdan to a number of specialists – traumatic surgeon, orthopedist, cardiac neurologist, and neuropathologist. When they took him to the infectious diseases hospital, they doctors found a lump not far from his belly button and referred him to the cancer department of the regional hospital. Bogdan had an ultrasound examination done. The preliminary diagnosis was a neuroblastoma of the third degree. Besides, the doctors found out that Bogdan had a congenital heart disease. He was referred to the hospital in , where the diagnosis was confirmed. The only difference was that it was the fourth degree of cancer. Bogdan came to for MBG, which showed that his bone marrow was totally damaged. They suspected metastasis in the bones as well. Another MBG done in April, showed that three vertebrae (third, fourth, and fifth). Bogdan had a long-term treatment at the Cancer Institute in . But in September he was discharged from the institute.
