topic: Many people go to university for academic study. More people should ne encouraged to do vocational training because there is a lack of qualified workers such as electricians and plumbers. To what extent do you agree or dis agree.

It is true that many people prefer to go to university for academic study rather than follow a vocational training course. While nobody denies the importance of university graduates, I totally agree we should encourage more people to become the qualified workers such as electricians, plumbers, glazier, or other essential manual workers.

Firstly, there are two main reasons convincing me that more blue-collar jobs are required. On the one hand, in many countries, especially developing countries like Vietnam the demands of infrastructures, such as hospitals, schools, museums and safety of public buildings as well are extremely crucial. Therefore, electricians, plumbers, and other trades are vital when buildings are constructed or need maintenance. On the other hand, it is undeniable that too many academic graduates in some countries. As the result, the percentage of the graduate unemployment rises significantly in recent time. Governments in those countries always have to deal with this imbalance situation.

Secondly, base on the critical need in many countries, more people should be encouraged to attend the vocational training. In term of schools must make changes in the curriculum and provide workshops to teach practical skills. For example, the workshops are organized in school should provide an opportunity to learn “hand-on-skills”, adapting theory of physics lesson to practical applications. Besides, parents should also help their child to orientate the vocational career, with the good employment prospects and remuneration for manual workers with qualification and skills.

In conclusion, with all of the above reasons I agree that we should encourage more people to do vocational training because such skilled workers, society cannot function effectively
