Topic: some people say that poor students who come from rural areas often find it difficult to have access to university education. What should be done to solve this problem? Giver reasons for your answers.

Essay:

It is true that underprivileged students or those who come from the rural areas usually have difficulties in gaining access to universities. In my opinion, there are various ways for the government to address this issues.

First of all, the unavailability of universities in rural areas has greatly contributed to this problem. Therefore, one direct solution for the government is to construct more school and universities in these areas. Providing students from the countryside with easier access to education enable them to have an improved academic background and ultimately they can have higher chances of gaining admission to quality universities. Another viable step the government can take to resolve this issue is to focus more on training teachers and encourage them to pursue this career in an effort to satisfy the high demand for universities. The standard of salary of teachers should be raised while more subsidies can be provided to improve the facilities and their working environment. Thus, the greater number of universities and educators will make it possible for disadvantaged students to gain access to universities.

Another obstacle that poor students or those who come from the rural area have to overcome is the financial problem, especially the tuition demanded from universities. Accordingly, students who move to the city for educational purposes often have trouble in acquainting themselves with the urban life in terms of the living expenses. Hence, halls of residence should be available for them while renting prices must remain low. Transportation should also be readily accessible at an affordable cost to help students commute.

In conclusion, many solutions are feasible to resolve this problem. The government should take radical measures to help unprivileged students gain access to universities.
