Please help me to correct these sentences

One of drivers, Mr. Ruben is on medical leave as he sustained knee injury last week. He slipped and hit his knee on the rear bumper of the truck while he was trying to loading the items into the truck.

As he is on immobilization and put a cast on his knee. Doctor certified medical leave for one week and advised him to take complete bed rest.
