Please help me to correct these senteces

We require a heavy duty sweep clock movement in order to run the clock smoothly; otherwise it'll interrupt after some time because some clocks have heavy and long hands.

Use a comma after "otherwise." I think "interrupt" is the wrong word.

(I don't know what a sweep clock movement is, so I'll assume that's the correct jargon.)
