Please help me to correct my writing in this essay

Topic: Some people learn by reading about things. Others learn by doing things. Which of these methods of learning is better for you?

Learning new things is interesting and difficult. People have to find their own way to learn effectively. They can learn by doing or learn by reading. In my opinion, learning by reading is better. And I learn almost things by reading, especially when I was in high school.

I like learning all science subjects, especially math. And in order to study math well, I must read all of the relevant theory before doing exercises. When I have a thorough understanding of the theories, I can solve many different problems including the difficult ones by myself. If I just rigidly solve a problem like my teacher or my friends without reading relevant theories first, it is just like rote learning. I only can solve problems having the same form. That means when I meet new problems, which still involve the same theories, I can't solve it by myself. Sometimes, I even can't understand or remember the problem I solved.

Some people think they just need to solve a sample problem with teacher's helping and they can understand the problem and the relating theories deeper after practicing a few times. And it may also be harder to forget them to. But I think it is a waste of time. They must spend a lot of time to manage to do that. While they are trying to understand and remember one problem in that way, I can do that with many problems by reading and understanding the theories first. In some situations, even they do so many exercises, they still can't see the essence of the problem or the theories inside without reading. Moreover, they can understand in wrong ways without knowing. On the other hand, I could learn more things beside the main problems and theories by reading such as the origin of the theory, applying the problem in practice... Reading is not only the most basic but also effective and best way to lean.
