IELTS WRITING TASK 2

Topic: People have easy access to video games nowadays and many people consider playing video games as a form of entertainment or even educational function. Others however completely deny this and say that video game only has negative effects on people. Which point of view do you agree with? why?

In these days, people have more and more sort of different way to entertain. Playing computer games is the games which not only satisfies our relaxing need but also has the great benefit of educating people. However, some others suppose that it is the bad habit and just bring to us the drawback.

On the one hand, we can not deny the great benefit of playing video games. Firstly, it is able to make the people relax, escape from the mess of work, study and deadline. Besides, it similar to the remedy which can refresh our brain to get ready for the new challenge. Secondly, playing video games also have the use of education. For example, most of the video games support us to practice IT skills and improving our typing speed. In addition, players can learn teamwork, time-management, leadership skills that rarely appear in some normal games.

On the other hand, we also have to cope with a lot of problems that come with playing video games. It is clear that some young people become more aggressive and have the bad behavior because they are affected by the violent game. Besides, they can be addicted to playing video games, resulted in being distracted from studying and working. Moreover, we can easily to get the risk of illness or eye problem because instead of doing physical activities, we spend too much time on sitting for hours and sticking eyes to the computer's screen.

In conclusion, video games come along with both of advantages and disadvantages. It is impossible to confuse its entertainment and education function. However, we need to know how to manage our time between playing games and working, especially, select the right game without violent factors.
