Topic: Religious people usually behave better than non-religious people. Do you agree? Why/Why not?

Relationship between religion and manner is still a continuing debate until now. Some believe that religious people tend to behave better than non-religious people. However, in my view, I suppose that religion is not a decisive factor in affecting to human’s character.

Firstly, human’s society has witnessed many tragedies caused by believers from terrorism elements in many nations. A standout event of this is September 11 attacks by Islamic extremist group which resulted in extensive death and destruction. The event made American as well as citizens all over the world extremely horrified and indignant. However, while the spiritual could do such immoral evils, many of the non-religious have their own moral values that prevent them from hurting others.

Secondly, a person’s attitude and behavior mostly depend on both his/her instinctive personality and education given from the birth. In addition, religion is just purely a set of rules involving morality and even destiny which helps to orient followers in life. Therefore, it is obvious that if a baby is brought up properly and strictly, it will almost likely become a well-mannered and obedient child like any other religious children.

Nevertheless, some people maintain that the religious believe in predetermined fate and law of causation, so they will lead a more good-inclined life than those having no belief. However, this is not the case because any society has its exceptions, and that a person follows a religion does not mean he/she will behave like a saint. Furthermore, as mentioned above, whether a person acts with reason and principles relies on the composition of many objective and subjective elements, not only on religion.

All things considered, I firmly believe that religion does not make followers behave better than non-followers. However, most religions encourage human to live more morally and serenely, so in some way, following a religion may help your life more beautiful.
