It is true that new media have been fundamentally changing the way people all around the world are entertained and consume information, and some think that these changes have bad impacts on our life. I completely disagree with this opinion.
On the one hand, digital information are becoming accessible to everyone than ever before. Online newspaper sites (a form of new media) can be accessed easily by a large range of devices with Internet connectivity, such as personal computers, tablets and especially smart phones have helped everyone to update the news worldwide regardless their locations. In addition, sharing or exchanging information with others has becoming far more convenient and prompt via emails or social networking sites chat boxes rather than conventional means of communication such as mails. Finally, along with the strong development of the Internet-based search engines such as Google or Bing, we can seek out any information to serve our live.
On the other hand, interactive role-playing video games and virtual reality (VR) technology has opened a new door to a brand new entertaining world for humankind. VR devices could deliver a highly interactive experience that place users in a fictional environment, people can cycle through the Himalayas in virtual world while lying on bed, for example. Furthermore, it is much greater to play a digital game where you can play a role as a central character and highly interact with other characters or co-players rather than footballing lonely by a conventional gaming console. 80% of people answered that modern interactive games bring to them interesting experiences rather than old version games, according to a survey.
In conclusion, the advent of new media has changed the way people all around the world interact, exchange information as well as our way of recreation, and it is indeed advantageous to our life.
