Please help me to check this sentence
Hello everybody, I have been learning some stuffs from this site for sometime. However, this is my first time to post the question. I have question about the below sentence.
"The assistant does not recall receiving a telex from the Mexico office _______ from the south American office."
If you have two choices between "or" and "but". Can I choose "but" to present the situation that assistant was receiving telex from the American office.
