I totally agree with the statement that people are never satisfied with what they have. In my point of view, people are not fulfilled with what they have because of human nature and highly competitive world which is indicated as follows:
Firstly, a huge ambition induces people never feel enough with their own things and potential they have. For example, sometime ago when I did not know how to write an essay I wished that if I know the way to write that is sufficient but when my wish came true my ambition rose again. I want to enhance my writing skills to write a better essay than the former is. However, thanks to a big ambition my writing skills are more and more improved.
Secondly, people want to be exceptional from the rest of other people and to be recognized by other people around them. Therefore, they must try too hard for working to accomplish tasks in their company to be promoted to higher position. Once they achieve their target and they are not going to stop there. They can turn it becoming a tool to help them gain more successful in work. That is the fact that we can see in daily life.
Last but not the least, perhaps the main reason is that people compare with others. There is a thought which always appears in our mind “what others have we do not have”. Hence, people tend to compare their own situations to others with respect to financial, social status that keep them discontent about their own conditions. This motivates people striving to obtain achievements like other people have.
For the reasons mentioned above, I agree with the statement that people are not satisfied with what they have. It has some positive aspects in that dissatisfaction is motivation for human progress.
