Topic: people living in large cities today face many problems in their everyday life. What are these problems? should the government encourage people to move out of the city to smaller regional towns?
---
It is true that these days, city-dwellers are facing with tons of daily issues that are caused by the hustle and bustle lifestyle of their cities. In my opinion, I do believe that these problems can be tackled by the proper policies of the city council, particularly encouraging people to relocate to smaller areas.

Two of the most common problem are traffic congestion and environmental pollution. Firstly, in recent years, the number of private vehicles in the metropolis has risen at an alarming rate, causing heavy traffic jams than ever. People in these areas have to face traffic congestion regularly, it is not only an annoying phenomenon but also has detrimental effects on people's work. For instance, in Ho Chi Minh city, citizens spend almost an hours just traveling to their workplaces since they get stuck in traffic, especially, during peak hours. Secondly, environmental issues also have an adverse impact on people’s health. A large amount of unprocessed waste is discharged on the ground from neighborhood and factory zones, causing soil and water contamination. A high level of pollution is the culprit of various health problems such as diarrhea or cancer.

Governments could certainly make more effort to address these dangerous problems. The majority of problems existing in urban areas are a result of overpopulation. Therefore, the more people leave the city and move to the suburban areas, the more problems are resolved. If people mitigated to suburbs, it could lead to a decrease in the number of vehicles in the city, as a result, the problem of traffic would be tackled. It also leads to a decline in waste production which helps to mitigate environmental pollution.

In conclusion, I do personally think that the government could apply suitable policies to ensure the citizen’s quality of life.
